Everyone's talking Corporate Social Responsibility

I was on the internet, and I stumbled upon a video titled “Everyone’s talking Corporate Social Responsibility” The video features Michael Hastings, Global Head of Citizenship and Diversity. Hastings states that Corporate Social Responsibility is to be a positive contributor to the needs of the community that they directly and indirectly impact. He thinks that people will feel a sense of pride and delight. There is a connection between commitments. These commitments come from the corporations and the people within the corporations. You want to come into a company that connects you with the community, and that makes you feel good about the way they do business and how they make you feel when you are there. It will make you feel better as a person because you see it as giving back. This gives you the power to make a big difference in the world around you because the corporation has given you the opportunity to make that difference.

How can we embrace all of this? Make a difference. The video makes you understand the importance of CSR now and in the future. For the companies that start to practice CSR, and then fall through on it are the companies that will not get the best people for the job. The best employees are going to go to companies that when they started trying to give back to their communities, and be socially responsible, will be the companies with the best CSR professionals. Do your homework and look for the responsible companies.
